This blog follows the construction of a 1.6" scale (7.5" guage) live steam powered model of the Frisco 1522 Mountain class locomotive. It is based upon castings for the Heavy Mikado 2-8-2 purchased from Railroad Warehouse and the Pacific 4-6-2 from Little Engines. Railroad Warehouse has closed down its business but the folks at Railroad Supply are working to bring back this nice locomotive kit. Discussions about the project can be found on the Chaski - Home Machinist - Live Steam - Build Log forum under the 'Frisco 1522 Project'.
The Frisco 1522
